Ayşe, Ali, Mehmet and Zeynep are middle-class millennials struggling to make ends meet in Istanbul. Either still living with their parents or hardly getting by without help from their families, they are all beset by similar woes: money crunch, joblessness, social isolation. In view of the world’s horrors that Zeynep enumerates in her diary entries, these are minor problems, ‘slight disasters’, but they are all-consuming, at least to the extent of making them cry in the still of the night. 　　However, Umut Subasi’s first feature, Almost Entirely a Slight Disaster, is not a melodrama. With an appealingly light touch, it diagnoses the malaise of a generation that has run up against a dead end, one whose future prospects are indistinguishable from a game of chance. This is a world where astrology, the lottery and online personality tests compete with visa and job applications as life-shaping elements. 　　Fittingly, the film is structured around chance and coincidence, with its handful of characters encountering each other in every permutation, as though there were no world outside this small social bubble. 　　故事发生在2050年，蓝小玮是一个研究员，她研发了“零接触”的技术--通过佩戴特殊的头盔，将两个人的脑电波连接起来实现梦境的连接。这天，一个便衣警探余警官找到研究所，要求小玮使用零接触的技术帮他侦破一个极为棘手的案件。小玮觉得这案件跟母亲的昏迷案件有关，尽管知道危险，还是不听父亲的阻止，接受这个任务了。小玮通过网络连接的方式进入昏迷者易田的梦境，随后捣蛋的余警官也偷偷尾随而来，两人在这个奇怪的世界跌跌撞撞，搞笑百出，也危险重重，两人配合警探父亲，终于找到真凶竟然就是实验室的研究员，至此故事告一段落。
