西门庆（杨群 饰）贪婪残暴的个性人尽皆知，尽管家中如花美眷成群，但他依旧安奈不住外出寻花问柳的冲动。一次偶然中，西门庆遇见了名为潘金莲（胡锦 饰）的女子，她的美艳和妖媚瞬间就将西门庆所吸引，他在内心暗下决定，一定要将这位绝世美人“收入麾下”。在西门庆的怂恿之下，潘金莲杀害了老实忠恳的丈夫，最终嫁入了西门庆的府中。 女人多的地方是非自然就多，西门庆府中表面看来风和日丽，但几位夫人为了争宠各自使出了千方百计。之后，西门庆又看上了他人之妻李瓶儿（恬妮 饰），他故技重施人财并获，一时之间好不得意，却不知终有一天，他会栽在自己的手上。

Either still living with their parents or hardly getting by without help from their families, they are all beset by similar woes: money crunch, joblessness, social isolation. In view of the world’s horrors that Zeynep enumerates in her diary entries, these are minor problems, ‘slight disasters’, but they are all-consuming, at least to the extent of making them cry in the still of the night. However, Umut Subasi’s first feature, Almost Entirely a Slight Disaster, is not a melodrama. With an appealingly light touch, it diagnoses the malaise of a generation that has run up against a dead end, one whose future prospects are indistinguishable from a game of chance. This is a world where astrology, the lottery and online personality tests compete with visa and job applications as life-shaping elements. Fittingly, the film is structured around chance and coincidence, with its handful of characters encountering each other in every permutation, as though there were no world outside this small social bubble.
