 上海某建筑公司青工李捷和市工艺品公司女青年王艳是一对初恋的情人。他们因文化考试作弊被老师当场抓获，而对成绩零分他们毫不介意，并相约去桂林旅游。在去嵩山的飞机上，李捷和王艳结识了一对金婚旅游的教授夫妇、一对新婚伉俪和一位自称银行经理眼睛却总盯着别人钱包的"贾主任"。旅游团住进了"台联酒店"。第一餐用在摹拟厅模仿外国人进餐。李捷面对全是外文的菜单，沉着上老教授的样子指指点点，结果，摆在他俩面前的是全套冷饮。为了驱寒，二人只好一路舞回房去。众人畅游桂林，"贾主任"却在酒店里忙了起来。他把那人不离新郎的红皮箱翻了个底朝天，看到的除了方便面就是干面包。旅游归来，无法平静的教授来到李捷房间高谈阔论起来。而洗澡间里，李捷和王艳早已拥抱在一起了。第二天，教授夫人发现自己五十年未曾离手的戒指不见了，一口咬定是教授搞的，使教授十分尴尬。在江畔垂钓的李捷遇上了以跳江要挟女友莉莉办理结婚登记的好友陈伟。李捷为帮助陈伟和莉莉周旋，代替陈伟去和莉莉登记，却阴差阳错地写上了自己的名字。这正中莉莉之意，于是，莉莉死死缠住李捷，陈伟也和李捷断绝了友谊。在旅游团逛市场的时候，"贾主任"这个大小偷被小小偷掏了腰包，人们从小小偷逃跑时丢下的钱包里发现了教授夫人的戒指。王艳因血中缺钙抽搐、呕吐。看病时，她把钙和癌的符号搞混，以为自己得了血癌，于是服了老鼠药决定"安乐死"。莉莉心灰意冷，将"结婚证书"丢进漓江，"贾主任"好不容易把莉莉的挎包弄到手，却被当场抓住。李捷和王艳回到上海，双双来到职工的夜校。可是，原来的学校也弃教经商了。

　　富豪洪飞虎（古天乐 饰）因怪病找到峨嵋派掌门王凤（郑秀文 饰），她对飞虎的生性傲慢毫无好感，于是用尽各种奇怪的方法治疗飞虎。王凤的师姐李莫愁（李冰冰 饰）突然出现，并扬言要铲除峨嵋派。未免伤及无辜，王凤尽快医好了飞虎。知道了王凤的恶作剧之后，飞虎愤然离开了。　　为了与师姐决战，王凤急需练好“伤心断肠剑”，但从未经历伤心之苦的她 无法领悟“百年好合”这一招式的要领，王凤在众人的劝说下决定求助与飞虎。飞虎不计前嫌，用尽办法让王凤伤心，练好招式。王凤又能否成功？
