等待方舟

　　Set in an underground dungeon inhabited by bundled, ragged human beings, after the nuclear holocaust. The story follows the wanderings of a hero through the situations of survival. People wait for the Ark to arrive and rescue them while their habitat falls apart.　　Delving deep into the dusty and long abandonded vaults of b-cinema in search of lost gems always leaves me with a bittersweet taste. On one hand the discovery of unexpected gems where no one would think them possible is a rewarding experience. On the other hand though it makes one wonder how many of these remarkable low-budget oddities, personal love affairs of directors never quite famous and now all but forgotten, have almost forever slipped from memory?　　n any case what we have here is a little post-apocalyptic gem from Poland that is really better than it has any right to. The dystopian near future of O-BI, O-BA finds a group of survivors of the nuclear war that ravaged the Earth inhabiting an underworld concrete bunker and biding their time as they wait for the mysterious Ark, an air ship of some kind that will come and save them. The Ark proves to be an elaborate hoax, carefully designed to give hope to the malnourished and desperate denizens of the bunker, while in the meantime the dome that separates their miserable existence from the nuclear winter outside is slowly caving in.　　What first striked me about the movie is the design of the bunker and the depiction of the survivors. The survivors are gaunt, filthy and terrible-looking penitents, dressed in rags and aimlessly wandering the neon-lit halls of the bunker like automatons. The bunker is a rundown, seedy place, with bright neon lights peering from all sides like the eyes of malignant beasts.　　On one hand it is a slightly 80's depiction of the dystopian future but the movie never stoops down to MAD MAX cheese. Instead it combines biting political satire with the bleak outlook of a world with no future, black comedy with barbs on apathy, religion and power. The survivors, for example, are fed some kind of flour dropping from a tube that hovers in the air - later on we discover the food supervisor uses books and the Bible itself as filler for this meagre meal. There are many such short symbolic touches, perhaps not life-changing or faith-restoring, yet playful, clever and inspired.　　One thing is for sure; O-BI, O-BA is not your run-of-the-mill sci-fi schlock. It overcomes its modest budget with creativity and has genuine artistic aspirations both from a writing and directing perspective. My opinion is that it should have been filmed in black and white instead of colour though. The director uses atmospheric light and shadow to great effect and it would have registered even better in stark black and white. The blue-green neon on the other hand outstays its welcome after a while. Just a minor gripe in an otherwise solid b-movie with its heart set in all the right places.　　Imagine a less bleak THE ROAD (Cormac McCarthy) being injected with the satire and humour of DR.STRANGELOVE and you're getting there. See it if you can find it.

狂犬病1977

　　加拿大导演戴维．克罗南伯格执导的本片，主要描写骇人听闻的疯狗病，受传染的人会口吐绿液，双眼发光，并且见人乱咬，几个小时后即不治而亡。美国著名的“性”星玛里琳．查姆伯丝扮演的罗丝小姐幼时曾患过疯狗病，因车祸受伤引起病毒复发，腋下竟然不可思议地长出一个嘴巴，而且内有一个可伸缩自如的肉刺，专用来插到别人身上吸血。于是，她在一个接一个吸别人血的同时，也把疯狗病迅速传播，使城市瞬间成为疯人满布的人间地狱……　　影片评价　　仅仅就身体变异而言，克隆伯格的独特之处在于处处不忘对色情幻想进行扭曲，无论是《狂犬病》（Rabid）中女主角必须由腋下长出一只阴茎来对其阴道作出支撑，还是《录像带谋杀案》（Videodrome）中男主角长出阴道般的裂口，都是这种扭曲的必然，连录像带的转子，都像双乳一样扭动。《录像带谋杀案》其实还有一个原来设想的结局，就是一男（男主角麦克斯）两女（尼基和卞卡）合体，同时以各自的变异性器官相互绞缠吞噬。在《赤裸的午餐》(Naked lunch)中，那个最终撕开男性外皮露出女体乳房的总裁如果还不够刺激，等你意识到她的装束是女同施虐的标准配备，就会有格外的颤栗。

未来学大会

　　曾经名噪一时的女明星罗宾·怀特（罗宾·怀特 Robin Wright 饰）早已过气，45岁的她因为执拗和任性毁掉的很多机会，也让公司老板杰夫（丹尼·赫斯顿 Danny Huston 饰）渐渐失去了耐心。杰夫逼迫她签下演员生涯最后一份合约，从此罗宾的名字和三维扫描后的虚拟 形象只能出现在公司的展示墙上和数字时代的电影中。罗宾起初极度抵制，但在经纪人艾尔（哈威·凯特尔 Harvey Keitel 饰）的竭力劝说下，同时考虑到儿子亚伦（柯蒂·斯密特-麦菲 Kodi Smit-McPhee 饰）的状况，这个倔强的女人选择妥协。20年后，罗宾驱车前往亚伯拉荷马参加未来学大会，而那里是一个全动画封锁区。以动画形象示人的罗宾将经历一次难忘的旅程……　　本片根据波兰科幻、哲学、未来学作家斯坦尼斯拉夫·莱姆的短篇小说改编。
