等待方舟

　　Set in an underground dungeon inhabited by bundled, ragged human beings, after the nuclear holocaust. The story follows the wanderings of a hero through the situations of survival. People wait for the Ark to arrive and rescue them while their habitat falls apart.　　Delving deep into the dusty and long abandonded vaults of b-cinema in search of lost gems always leaves me with a bittersweet taste. On one hand the discovery of unexpected gems where no one would think them possible is a rewarding experience. On the other hand though it makes one wonder how many of these remarkable low-budget oddities, personal love affairs of directors never quite famous and now all but forgotten, have almost forever slipped from memory?　　n any case what we have here is a little post-apocalyptic gem from Poland that is really better than it has any right to. The dystopian near future of O-BI, O-BA finds a group of survivors of the nuclear war that ravaged the Earth inhabiting an underworld concrete bunker and biding their time as they wait for the mysterious Ark, an air ship of some kind that will come and save them. The Ark proves to be an elaborate hoax, carefully designed to give hope to the malnourished and desperate denizens of the bunker, while in the meantime the dome that separates their miserable existence from the nuclear winter outside is slowly caving in.　　What first striked me about the movie is the design of the bunker and the depiction of the survivors. The survivors are gaunt, filthy and terrible-looking penitents, dressed in rags and aimlessly wandering the neon-lit halls of the bunker like automatons. The bunker is a rundown, seedy place, with bright neon lights peering from all sides like the eyes of malignant beasts.　　On one hand it is a slightly 80's depiction of the dystopian future but the movie never stoops down to MAD MAX cheese. Instead it combines biting political satire with the bleak outlook of a world with no future, black comedy with barbs on apathy, religion and power. The survivors, for example, are fed some kind of flour dropping from a tube that hovers in the air - later on we discover the food supervisor uses books and the Bible itself as filler for this meagre meal. There are many such short symbolic touches, perhaps not life-changing or faith-restoring, yet playful, clever and inspired.　　One thing is for sure; O-BI, O-BA is not your run-of-the-mill sci-fi schlock. It overcomes its modest budget with creativity and has genuine artistic aspirations both from a writing and directing perspective. My opinion is that it should have been filmed in black and white instead of colour though. The director uses atmospheric light and shadow to great effect and it would have registered even better in stark black and white. The blue-green neon on the other hand outstays its welcome after a while. Just a minor gripe in an otherwise solid b-movie with its heart set in all the right places.　　Imagine a less bleak THE ROAD (Cormac McCarthy) being injected with the satire and humour of DR.STRANGELOVE and you're getting there. See it if you can find it.

　　狮子山下的香港，是一个谎言也被美化成「语言艺术」的荒谬都市，要骗得到别人，先要骗到自己，在这繁华都市的一个贫困角落，是一个个比劏房更非人道的「太空舱」，在这些六迟x四迟的棺材式住宅中，住一班快要连自己也骗不下去的人。　　网客子轩，网上是人气爆灯的楼市评论家，现实中却是欠负 累累，屋租也交不起的网路打手，为了省钱还债，骗女友到纽约实习，实情是搬到「太空舱」，在网上装著「纽约客」的生活，子轩却在这个环境恶劣的「太空舱」中认识更多「太空人」…　　年少时抱著热血江湖梦的古惑仔阿锋，却遇上回归后社团事业转形型，十多年来越混越差，竟沦为水货客，江湖变作罗湖，鬱鬱不得志阿锋等待机会多年，却在一次为维稳活动中，错手重创高官，成为人民英雄！　　释囚瑞昌为糊口，重操故业持械行劫，一次犯案中无意中竟让昔日狱友强姦犯阿全成为救得美人的英雄，突然正义的瑞昌决定为自己作孽赎罪！　　神神化化，常胡言乱语，在太空舱开设骨灰龛生意的阿成，有著一套异于常人的生活哲学，却遇上一头身价二百万的失犬！　　疼爱女友的货van司机阿明，为找一个可以和女友好好亲热的安乐蜗历尽千辛万苦，甚至将货van改装成「浪漫车床」旅居郊野公园，本意为万事俱备温馨之夜，却变成一场枪战飞车大逃亡！　　这群「来自太空舱的男人」为著心中的理想生活，在一个又一个谎话之中挣扎求存，体现真正的香港精神：自欺欺人！向著堕落的轨迹，跌进极度荒谬境地！

錺（かざり）職人のもとに奉公していた幸助（片岡千之助）は、ようやく8年の年季が明けることになった。                                                                      　　幸助は幼馴染のお蝶（北 香那）という娘に想いを寄せていた。                                                                      　　5年前、幸助とお蝶は年季が明けるその日、刻は暮六ツに、萬年橋で会う約束をしていた。                                                                      　　互いに想いながらもこの5年の間、幸助は人には言えない秘密を抱えていた。                                                                      　　また、お蝶の身にも幸助には話せない辛い思いがあった。                                                                      　　橋が見渡せる川辺からそっとお蝶を探す幸助。懐にはお蝶の為に作った簪（かんざし）が入っている。                                                                      　　果たして二人は萬年橋で再会することができるのか……。
