Ayşe, Ali, Mehmet and Zeynep are middle-class millennials struggling to make ends meet in Istanbul. Either still living with their parents or hardly getting by without help from their families, they are all beset by similar woes: money crunch, joblessness, social isolation. In view of the world’s horrors that Zeynep enumerates in her diary entries, these are minor problems, ‘slight disasters’, but they are all-consuming, at least to the extent of making them cry in the still of the night. 　　However, Umut Subasi’s first feature, Almost Entirely a Slight Disaster, is not a melodrama. With an appealingly light touch, it diagnoses the malaise of a generation that has run up against a dead end, one whose future prospects are indistinguishable from a game of chance. This is a world where astrology, the lottery and online personality tests compete with visa and job applications as life-shaping elements. 　　Fittingly, the film is structured around chance and coincidence, with its handful of characters encountering each other in every permutation, as though there were no world outside this small social bubble.  故事发生在抗战时期的上海。天龙会首领肖洁荣（谈鹏飞 饰）委婉推辞日本陆军总部要其出任亲日同盟会长职务，隐退江湖。冷亦啸（周里京 饰）号称天龙会第一枪手，他抵制日本人的倒行逆施，暗中与肖洁荣的独生女肖岚（高颖 饰）相好。董浩然（何麟 饰）觊觎会长职位，又贪肖岚美色，他唆使肖洁荣把冷亦啸从天龙会中逐出。不久，肖岚委身董浩然，心灰意冷的冷亦啸在记者陈丽娜（潘婕 饰）推荐下，为他人做私人保镖。肖洁荣悔不该当初赶走冷亦啸，差肖岚相请遭拒。肖洁荣日后遭杀害，冷亦啸中伏击幸遇陈丽娜相救，他在激战中打死董浩然。在日本人为庆祝“螳螂计划”获得成功时，冷亦啸幽灵般出现......

作为聋人家庭唯一能听见声音的成员，含羞的少女发现自己拥有唱歌天赋，她不得不在履行责任和寻找自己的道路之间做出抉择。
