本片改编自同名漫画，讲述了在充满怀旧气息的街道·九龙的不动产公司工作的鲸井令子和她心仪的职场前辈·工藤发之间交织而成的悬疑爱情罗曼史。故事由令子偶然发现一张照片，得知工藤过去有个和自己长得一模一样的未婚妻开始...

　　因忍受不了男友Moses（任贤齐）的平凡，阿Mi狠心与他分手，塞翁失马焉知祸福，Moses在老人院做义工时，与怪脾气老头蛤蚧王成为忘年之交，后者死后，给他留下巨额遗产。蛤蚧王的此举招致其律师Allen的不满，他在夜总会发泄时无意中将此事告诉了小姐Didi（张柏芝）。　　为将Moses钓到手，Didi使出浑身解数，无奈均不奏效。发现Moses是绝种好男人后，Didi对他动了真心，两人开始热恋，不久，Allen将Didi的原来身份相告Moses，令他异常伤心，此时，阿Mi又前来要与他复合。

　　Following her mother’s death, manga artist Soriya travels to her ancestral home in Phnom Penh, with hopes of reconnecting with her distant family and using the visit as inspiration for her work. All goes well initially. Renting an apartment in Metta, a rundown Khmer Rouge-era housing complex, her visit to her maternal relatives finds her welcomed with open arms. But Soriya’s waking hours in the apartment and its surroundings are punctuated by terrifying, bloody visions, almost as though she were a conduit for horrors of the past wanting to seep into the present.　　Inrasothythep Neth and Sokyou Chea’s blood-chilling psychological horror explores a personal and political past through the present, transforming a characterful space into an insidious environment. Surrounded by modern high-rises, this decrepit structure, with its brutalist architecture and peeling surfaces, is a relic from a dark period in history whose painful memories it has absorbed. In tracing Soriya’s ominous journey back to her roots, Tenement hints at a necessary reckoning with Cambodia’s political past without overplaying its historical dimension. It’s an impressive work from a woefully underrepresented national cinema.
